Who can benefit from Pilates?

Essentially, everyone!

As human beings, we are creatures of habit. We walk a certain way, we take the stairs a certain way, we stand a certain way and we sit at our desks a certain way. So, our muscles get imbalanced because of overuse and underuse. Our joints can also become stiff and painful. Pilates can help with this stiffness and these imbalances.

Pilates looks at the body as a whole and concentrates on flexibility, balance, strength, and body awareness.

You’ve probably heard about ‘The Core’. What is it?

Besides the abdominal area, we’re also talking about your sides, mid to low back, your buttocks, and your hips.

With good ‘inner’ strength here, the risk of injury and pain can be lessened.

Think about balance

Balance is required in all of our daily activities such as walking, getting up and down from a chair, picking up and carrying objects, and catching oneself from tripping or even falling. Due to its emphasis on balance, strength, and coordination, Pilates is an excellent form of exercise for maintaining and improving balance.

How do we run our classes?

In 6-week blocks @ £75 per block.

Wherever possible, if you cannot make a class in any given week, we will try to offer you one of the other three classes in that same week.

We do ask that you buy your own equipment such as a mat and resistance bands as we only have a limited amount spare.

As with all other forms of exercise, it does take a few weeks to feel the benefits so get in touch via the contact form to organise a free taster session.

Whether you’re new to Pilates or experienced, we’re here to see that you join our classes supported and guided by us and amongst our friendly group of beginners and intermediate-level attendees. We will ensure that you are looked after, and safe.

Like all exercise though, what’s most important is that you enjoy it.

We look forward to hearing from you.
