Assessment and Treatment

Between us we have a wealth of experience and what sets us apart is our detailed assessment and clinical reasoning skills to determine the most effective treatment for each patient. Following a detailed assessment, an individual treatment plan will be discussed and agreed with you.

Pilates

Jo has restarted face-to-face Pilates classes from Jan 2023. These are run in two different halls in Sonning Common: Christ The King Church Hall, Sedgewell Rd, and Peppard War Memorial Hall, Gallowstree Rd. Please do get in touch to register your interest and discuss joining one of our popular classes. These are also run in 6 week blocks at £75/block.

We have one online Zoom class: Thursday at 6.30pm with Catherine. This is run in 6 week blocks @ £54/block.

Wherever possible, we will offer you an alternative class in any given week should you not be able to make your regular class. We do ask that you give us as much notice so that numbers can be monitored.

Shockwave Therapy

Here at Functional Physiotherapy, we use shockwave therapy for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, it uses a specialist device to deliver acoustic energy or sound waves through the skin to the injured part of the body. The shockwaves are mechanical and not electric. They are audible, low-energy sound waves, which increase the blood flow to the injured area. It feels like a firm, rapid tapping against the skin.

Insurance

In certain instances with some insurance companies, we will invoice the insurance company directly. If you wish for the clinic to provide this service, it is important that you bring all of your insurance membership details and authorisation details with you to your first appointment.

We’re afraid that we do not have a contract with Vitality and therfore cannot offer treatment to clients wishing to use them for treatment reimbursement.

Please note that there will be a surcharge applied to all Bupa and AXA assessments and treatments as they do not cover our full fees.
